I have used the featherweight and T3. Both work great and the featherweight has some cooler features. But you still have to carry a receiver and another device to find your rocket.

Practically all teams just contact a vendor, make a payment, and collect it in the U.S. The flyer of record is technically the end-recipient/user of the M/N/O rocket motor, but ultimately the foreign team is the entity that purchases, and sometimes a foreign L3 member is the flyer of record. Just wanna avoid trouble.

Mar 9, 2018 · The rocket did go sideways (it pinwheeled along the ground for a bit), but, luckily, it was an MPR flight and a relatively lightweight rocket, so it didn't go very far. I was lucky to learn the lesson without creating a huge safety issue and I have not repeated that mistake.

I could find Estes at a couple of department stores close to home, but there was only one shop in downtown Huntsville, Ala. that carried Centuri. Even the Alabama Space and Rocket Center gift shop at that time had several Estes kits, but no Centuri kits, IIRC.
