Four people have been stabbed in the Israeli capital of Tel Aviv after a man reportedly launched a frenzied attack in a popular nightlife area. A spokesperson for a nearby hospital said it was treating three people as a result of the incident, including one victim who was in "a serious condition with a knife wound to the neck".

Magen David Adom, described as providing ambulance and blood bank services, said the alleged attacker was 'neutralized' Tuesday.

Police did not identify the attacker but believe the stabbings were a terrorist act. Israel launched a major military operation in the occupied West Bank that killed at least nine Palestinians.
