Three Israeli hostages, released by Hamas in Gaza, are reunited with their families after undergoing medical evaluation.

The families of the three Israeli hostages released Saturday have spoken out about their loved ones’ ordeal in Hamas captivity, saying they hope their suffering provides impetus to efforts to free all those still in Gaza as soon as possible.

The hostages, who were made to give public speeches thanking the Hamas militants who had held them captive, looked frail and gaunt, sparking dismay and outrage in Israel.

The three men all appeared thin, weak and pale, and in worse condition than the 18 hostages who had previously been freed under the truce.

Hostages Ohad Ben Ami, Or Levy and Eli Sharabi were released from Gaza in exchange for 183 Palestinian prisoners, after more than 16 months in captivity.

Ohad Ben Ami, Eli Sharabi, and Or Levy – all taken hostage during Hamas’s October 7 attack on Israel – were handed to the Red Cross in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, after 491 days of captivity. The three appeared thin and pale when they were led onto a makeshift stage sparking concerns about the condition of hostages under Hamas captivity.

Netanyahu said Israel "will not gloss over" the striking photos of emaciated hostages released on Saturday as part of the ceasefire deal with Hamas.
