Oahu was drenched throughout Thursday with Waimanalo recording 7 inches of rain for the 24 hours ending at 9:45 p.m. Other areas getting about 6 inches of rain or more included Hawaii Kai, Maunawili and Niu Valley.

Severe weather is possible during the end of this work week. Several warnings and watches are currently posted across the island chain.

Potentially damaging southwest wind, a risk for severe thunderstorms, flash flooding and heavy snow on the peaks of the Big Island’s volcanoes are all in the forecast.
