The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating after a woman walking was hit by an SUV and died on Wednesday night, March 12.

The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating a fatal car crash that occurred on Wednesday night. The crash happened around 11 p.m. in the 8900 block of Plank Road when a Ford Expedition struck a pedestrian,

Police report a Ford Expedition was southbound on Plank Road about 11:05 p.m. when it struck the woman, who died at the scene.

Isiah Smith, the third suspect sought in the investigation, turned himself in to authorities in Baton Rouge on Tuesday.

Kyle Thurman, 25, was in West Baton Rouge police custody Monday afternoon. He's expected to be charged with felony hazing.

Caleb Wilson, a junior at Southern University, died on Feb. 27. Unsanctioned fraternity activities may have caused his death, the university said.
