An Oregon husband and wife were arrested Saturday for allegedly impersonating firefighters near the Palisades Fire in Los Angeles that has burned more than 23,713 acres and claimed the lives of at least 10 people, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said in a release.

An Oregon couple went to the Palisades Fire in Los Angeles with a fire truck that may have been previously used by a Northern California fire department before it was decommissioned and auctioned

Deputies say that the two claimed to be members of the "Roaring River Fire Department" in Oregon and that the firetruck they were driving was purchased through an auction.

LOS ANGELES — Two suspects from Oregon are under arrest on suspicion of impersonating firefighters at the Palisades Fire. On Saturday, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Major Crimes Bureau investigators got a call about two suspects possibly impersonating firefighters.

The firefighters in the “strike teams” were drawn from all over Oregon, including Clackamas and Multnomah counties. The state fire marshal said the number of firefighters sent to California makes the out-of-state deployment one of Oregon’s largest ever.

Two people from Oregon were arrested for posing as firefighters in the Pacific Palisades area, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
