France regained its title as the world's best haute cuisine chefs on Monday evening when the French team won the prestigious Bocuse d'Or gold medal at the biannual two-day contest at the Eurexpo exhibition center in Lyon,

Chef Paul Marcon, son of the former Bocuse d'Or winner Régis Marcon, clinched the title late on Monday in France's gastronomic capital Lyon, 30 years after his father scooped up the prestigious honour. In total, 24 countries competed in the 2025 edition, with the Danish team, winners of the last edition, taking silver and Sweden the bronze medal.

A French team led by 20-year-old chef Paul Marcon won the prestigious Bocuse d'Or culinary contest on Monday, edging title holders Denmark. The victory comes 30 years after Marcon's father Régis triumphed in what is sometimes referred to as the "culinary Olympics".
