The International Space Station (ISS) has been a cornerstone of humanity’s presence in space for over two decades. However, with its decommissioning set for 2031, the curtain is closing on an era defined by international collaboration and groundbreaking research.
Cracks have appeared in the modules, and vital systems have started to degrade. Even its once pristine solar panels, which powered countless experiments, have been ravaged by the harsh conditions of space. Russia has reported that much of its portion of the station is no longer fit for the rigours of spaceflight.
In the photo from the space station, the comet is captured just above Earth’s horizon, which is illuminated by a bright light — also known as airglow — that occurs in the planet’s upper atmosphere when atoms and molecules emit light after being excited by sunlight.
Blue Ghost and New Glenn started off the year right. Many more launches are on the way, and many can be watched online.

If Putin were to come to terms with Ukraine, ending his war of conquest, Trump could offer Russia a role in the Artemis program in exchange. The incoming U.S. president could point out that Russia has prospered as a result of the International Space Station partnership. Without that partnership, Russia would not be any kind of space power,

If there is a leader in the aerospace industry, SpaceX is it. The company's Crew Dragon and Cargo Dragon spacecrafts are the current go-to vehicles to deliver astronauts and supplies to the International Space Station.
SpaceX plans to launch 27 more Starlink internet satellites into low-earth orbit from Vandenberg Space Force Base after two were scrapped, including one because of a Delta jet flying nearby.
