Drivers have been asked to avoid areas in Surrey due to congestion caused by a partial closure of the M25. The stretch of motorway between junction 10, near Wisley, and junction 11, near Woking, has been shut in both directions until 06:00 GMT on Monday for improvement works.

The good news is that these are the last of the M25 closures, related to the long running work at the Wisley interchange. While the project will not officially end until 2026 (a date that has been pushed back ) much of the remaining work will focus on the A3.

Motorists have been advised not to travel on the stretch of road impacted unless they have to. Those who are still planning to drive have been urged to plan ahead. This may include using different roads. Experts have also suggested setting off earlier than planned, or using public transport.

Drivers have been warned of disruption and delays with a section of the M25 set to close this weekend. National Highways has told drivers to expect delays and has urged them to complete their journeys in other ways. The closure comes as extra lanes are added to the motorway but where are the closures and when will they be in place?

The M25 will be closed from 9pm this evening (Friday, March 7) until 6am on Monday (March 10) between Junction 10 Wisley and Junction 11 Chertsey. Drivers are being urged to plan their journeys in advance, ahead of the closure.
