Dust off your fanciest hat and mix up some mint juleps, it's officially Kentucky Derby time! The Run for the Roses kicks off what should be a wildly unpredictable 2025 Triple Crown season with no shortage of contenders and storylines.

The 2025 Kentucky Derby contains a purse of $5 million once again. $3.1 million will be for the winner, $1 million will be presented to the runner-up, $500,000 will go to the No. 3 finisher, $250,000 for fourth place and $150,000 for the fifth-place finisher. The purse was previously $3 million from 2019-23 before rising to $5 million in 2024.
