Aaley Mohammed Iqbal of AAP has won the Matia Mahal Vidhan Sabha constituency in Delhi Assembly election 2025, defeating Deepti Indora of BJP.

Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) secured 22 seats in Delhi’s Assembly Elections 2025, forming an opposition for the State’s government. Here is a list of 22 AAP candidates who won the Delhi Election despite the party’s overall loss.

While the BJP has won 48 out of 70 assembly seats, AAP has secured 22 seats in Delhi. The Arvind Kejriwal-led party also lost key bastions including New Delhi, Jangpura and Greater Kailash

Aam Aadmi Party Supremo Arvind Kejriwal himself lost at his bastion New Delhi constituency after winning from there consecutively thrice till now. Other important AAP leaders like Saurabh Bharadwaj and Manish Sisodia also saw losses.

The clock has struck 8 AM, and the counting process has begun for the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025. As per the rules, postal ballots will be counted first, followed by the opening of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) to tally votes for the 70-member Delhi Assembly.

Counting of votes for the Delhi assembly polls is taking take place in 19 counting stations, spreading across 11 districts of the city to decide whether the AAP will come to power for a fourth term or the BJP will form a government in the national capital after more than 26 years.
