The Trump administration on Friday notified the Supreme Court that, in its view, a Tennessee law banning the use of puberty blockers and hormone therapy for transgender minors does not violate the Constitution’s guarantee of equal protection.

While it was once rare for an administration to change its position in cases before the high court, Trump did so in his first term and has signaled he will do it again.
