Entering Friday’s play, Brett Baty was, statistically, one of the Grapefruit League’s hottest players. That was convenient for Baty, considering he’s also one of the only players in Mets camp truly on the roster bubble.

He came into spring training in 2024 ready to hit the ball in the air more often, and yet it still ended up on the ground often after the start of the regular season.
