But with starters Jayson Tatum, Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis all sitting out Wednesday night against the Portland Trail Blazers, the duo raised their games to a level never before seen in NBA history.

Pritchard and White combined for 84 points, becoming the first Celtics teammates to reach the 40-point mark in the same game, and the first duo in NBA history to connect on at least nine 3-pointers.

Pritchard, a four-year star for the Ducks before being drafted by the Celtics in 2020, exploded for 43 points—his career-high as a pro. Meanwhile, White added 41, surpassing a record set just a week prior by Celtics stars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, who combined for 83 points in a loss to Cleveland.
