New Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem addressed the needs of impacted Kentuckians and potential future cuts within FEMA.
Secretary Kristi Noem visited eastern Kentucky to survey flood damage. WKYT was the only station to go to in a helicopter and get an aerial view of the remainder of flood damage. From above we saw hollars still needing debris clean and where the creeks were trudged out from high water levels.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem met with Gov. Andy Beshear and Kentucky officials Wednesday after surveying extensive flood damage in eastern Kentucky. She said President Donald Trump does not intend to slash disaster relief efforts.
