Interstate 10 Eastbound in Louisiana will be partially closed for road work, with the right lane before Exit 8 shut down from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. starting Monday.

METAIRIE, La. — Police in Jefferson Parish are investigating after a body was found near a drainage canal along Interstate 10 in Kenner. The body was found at about 10 a.m. Monday on the side of I-10 eastbound just before Power exit in Kenner.

Acadiana drivers should expect heavy delays on Interstate 10 West before Rayne because of an overturned 18-wheeler and a separate six-vehicle crash, according to officials. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development reported a tractor-trailer overturned near Grand Prairie Highway around 6 a.m.

An early morning crash on I-10 West caused major delays as crews worked on a serious accident. According to the Mire Fire Department, an 18-wheeler crashed and landed on its side, thus causing lane closures just before Rayne. You can see in the photo below that there was damage done to the safety cables that run parallel to the interstate.
