New Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson is getting right to work building out his coaching staff. According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Johnson and the Bears have requested to interview Los Angeles Rams assistant head coach and defensive passing game coordinator Aubrey Pleasant to become Chicago’s new defensive coordinator.

According to Ian Rapoport, the Bears have put in a request to interview Vikings DBs coach Daronte Jones for their defensive coordinator vacancy.

Because Pleasant is under contract with the Rams, the Bears will need permission from head coach Sean McVay to interview him for their vacancy. That said, McVay has already allowed Pleasant to leave for another job in the past and could give him the chance again.
