The Coral Gables Police Department is ramping up its enforcement after two groups of migrants arrived through a local canal.

Several people were taken into custody after a migrant smuggling event on Tuesday was stopped in Coral Gables, NBC6 sources said.

After dozens of migrants have been discovered in separate suspected smuggling incidents, Coral Gables authorities are looking for help securing their ports.

Cops found the red Ford pickup at the marina and determined that it was in Immokalee, Florida — about 130 miles away from Key Biscayne on the Gulf Coast — around 4 p.m. Sunday, then in Hialeah around 5:40 p.m. later that day, according to the report.
