Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for a Kentucky mother accused of killing her 3-month-old baby. Brenna Burkhart, 24, has been in jail since June 2024, about two months after Kentucky State Police received a suspected physical abuse complaint involving Burkhart’s 3-month-old baby.
Investigators said they detained the driver who fled the scene, but reported on Jan. 24 that the person was not responsible for killing the man hanging to the outside of his vehicle. Officials say the investigation into what led up to the crash is ongoing.
A 6-year-old boy accidentally shot himself with a gun he found under a pillow in the room where he slept, Kentucky police said. Officers responded at about 12:45 p.m. Jan. 25 to a report of an accidental shooting at a Radcliff residence, according to a criminal complaint.
