Six babies have died from hypothermia in Gaza since Sunday, according to health care officials in the strip, who warn there will be more such deaths unless more aid enters the enclave.

The deaths highlighted the brutal humanitarian conditions in the Palestinian enclave despite a ceasefire, doctors said.

At least three Palestinian babies have died of hypothermia during a cold snap in the Gaza Strip, the head of the Asdika al-Marid hospital, Said Saleh, said on Tuesday. The health authority controlled by the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas did not initially comment on the deaths.
