Acadiana drivers should expect heavy delays on Interstate 10 West before Rayne because of an overturned 18-wheeler and a separate six-vehicle crash, according to officials. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development reported a tractor-trailer overturned near Grand Prairie Highway around 6 a.m.
An early morning crash on I-10 West caused major delays as crews worked on a serious accident. According to the Mire Fire Department, an 18-wheeler crashed and landed on its side, thus causing lane closures just before Rayne. You can see in the photo below that there was damage done to the safety cables that run parallel to the interstate.

CROWLEY, La. (KLFY) — Officials responded to a vehicle that caught fire earlier this evening on the I-10. The Crowley Fire Department said the fire was on I-10, mile marker 79. Officials said no one was harmed in the incident and all lanes are back open.
