Hamas threatened to kill hostages if there is "any escalation" of attacks from Israel against "our people," a Hamas military spokesman said in a statement Thursday.

Democratic Rep. Al Green of Texas, known for his quixotic impeachment attempts against President Donald Trump, was removed from the House chamber during Trump's address to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday night.

Hamas is believed to still have 24 living hostages taken in the Oct. 7, 2023 attack that triggered the war, including Israeli-American Edan Alexander. It is also holding the bodies of 34 others who were either killed in the initial attack or in captivity, as well as the remains of a soldier killed in the 2014 war.
