Tony Roberts, a legendary Broadway and film actor, has died. He was 85. His daughter Nicole Burley told The New York Times that he died at his home in Manhattan, N.Y., on Friday, Feb. 7, after suffering complications of lung cancer.

Roberts had a genial stage personality perfect for musical comedy, and he originated roles in Broadway musicals like “How Now, Dow Jones" and “Sugar," an adaptation of the movie “Some Like It Hot."
