Captain America has gone through many looks over the Marvel Cinematic Universe, from Steve Rogers' first appearance to Sam Wilson's latest film.

The second film in the MCU has rarely factored into the universe as a whole, beyond William Hurt’s Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross making recurring appearances in later films. That changes with Captain America: Brave New World, which will see Liv Tyler and Tim Blake Nelson reprise their roles as Betty Ross and Samuel Sterns/Leader, respectively.

“Captain America: The First Avenger” is foundational to the Captain America character. It’s here where you meet Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) and learn about the Super Soldier Serum that made him Captain America. You also gain an understanding of the type of values he holds, what he symbolizes and why he is “one of the best,” according to GameRant.

Brave New World, or Captain America 4, Adamantium will make its way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, setting the stage for Wolverine’s origin and future storylines. The film will depict Adamantium as a newly discovered resource originating from the dead Celestial seen in Eternals.

Star Giancarlo Esposito, producer Nate Moore, and director Julius Onah tease the villainous crew in the Marvel movie, out February 14.
