Nvidia was rising early on Friday. Investors looked to be taking heart from the chip maker’s peer Broadcom which injected some life into the artificial-intelligence trade with a strong earnings report.

In the recent quarter, Nvidia reported a 78% increase in revenue to a record $39 billion, and full-year revenue rose 114% to a record $130 billion. The company also predicted double-digit revenue growth for the first quarter, with expectations of $43 billion in revenue.

Nvidia has led the artificial intelligence boom to become one of the stock market’s biggest companies, as tech giants continue to spend heavily on the company’s chips and data centers needed to train and operate their AI systems.
