Spanning categories including landscape, still life, sport and the environment, the annual competition’s professional awards will see one finalist named Photographer of the Year.

The World Photography Organisation has announced the category winners and shortlisted photographers for the Sony World Photography Awards 2025 Open competition. The Open competition of the World Photography Awards is in its 18th year and aims to celebrate photographers' ability to "distill a singular moment and to evoke a broader narrative.

More than 419,000 photos were submitted to this year's Sony World Awards, organized by the World Organisation.
