The Texas A&M softball team enters the 2025 season with some high expectations with a Top 5 ranking in the SEC

Alabama was ranked No. 11 in the national polls, but picked to finish 10th in the SEC this season, showing just how tough the conference is. The coaches predicted newcomer Texas to win the league with Florida, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas A&M rounding out the top five.

Ahead of its first season in the conference, Oklahoma softball came in at No. 3 in the preseason SEC poll, as voted on by league head coaches:

A rebuilding LSU softball team placed three players on the preseason All-SEC team and the Tigers were picked to finish sixth in the 15-team league as voted on by league

Utah transfer Abigale Dayton joined sophomores Ella Parker and Kasidi Pickering as Oklahoma’s honorees. Both Pickering and Parker were voted as Preseason First Team All-Americans by Softball America and D1Softball, and Dayton earned Preseason Second Team All-American recognition from both publications.

Expectations are high and buzzing for the Gators softball team. SEC coaches shared that feeling as Florida is projected to finish high in the conference for the 2025 season.
