Rory McIlroy hailed LIV Golf’s Tyrrell Hatton as “a massive asset” to Europe’s Ryder Cup team and urged him to never change his fiery temper after the English star’s one-shot win in the Hero Dubai Desert Classic sent him to the top of the qualifying charts.

The Dubai Desert Classic carried a huge prize fund of $9 million (£7,396,452) and 8,000 Race to Dubai points, with champ Hatton claiming the first prize of $1,530,000 (£1,257,396). McIlroy and Moller shared $831,600 (£683,432), meaning they walked away with a cool £341,716 each.
