Tottenham's situation under Ange Postecoglou worsened again after their weekend defeat to Leicester City at home and there can be little argument that injuries have been a huge factor in the club's struggles.

Ange Postecoglou has acknowledged injury-hit Tottenham will be “playing with fire” if they fail to make any more signings during the final 10 days of the January transfer window. Spurs were without 14 players for Thursday’s much-needed 3-2 win over Hoffenheim in the Europa League due to a combination of injuries and eligibility.

Spurs have taken extra care with Richarlison, though, giving him two weeks on the training ground before substitute appearances in the back-to-back league defeats to Arsenal and Everton, and the hope is that he can not only get through the next period of games but provide Spurs with some freshness up top.
