Australia is open to requests to take part in peacekeeping operations in Ukraine, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said, reaffirming his support for Kyiv as it faces growing criticism from the Trump administration.

The Prime Minister today told media Australia "stands ready to assist" President Volodymyr Zelenskyy if a call for help against the Russian onslaught was made.

Albanese’s comments represent a shift from a day earlier when the government poured cold water on the idea of sending Australian peacekeepers to Ukraine.
