The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) will remain open on February 1 despite it being a Saturday, due to the Union budget presentation.

Major gainers on the Sensex included Sun Pharma, UltraTech Cement, IndusInd Bank, Zomato and Adani Ports. On the other hand, the top losers were Titan, Bajaj Finserv, Kotak Bank, Nestle & Asian Paint

The Indian stock market is open today as the BSE, NSE and MCX have announced a special trading session on Budget day.

Vijayakumar said the market will be looking for growth stimulating measures and not market-related taxation reliefs like changes in the capital gains taxation.

Among the Sensex constituents, Larsen & Toubro gained 4.31% after reporting a 14% increase in consolidated profit after tax to Rs 3,359 crore. Nestle rose 4.25% following its announcement of Rs 688.01 crore net profit for December 2024 quarter.
