The Hoover Police Department said they received a call from Alabaster police around 10:50 p.m. stating they were chasing a domestic violence suspect on I-459 N. Hoover police joined the chase and pursued the suspect until they crashed near exit 13.

A man was shot and killed by an Alabama police officer after an interstate car chase, according to law enforcement agencies. Officers were responding to a domestic violence call just before 11 p.m. Feb. 4 in Alabaster, about a 25-mile drive south from Birmingham, the Alabaster Police Department said in a Feb. 5 news release.
