A man is dead after police say he repeatedly shot at police and SWAT officers Thursday night. Fort Worth police said they were called to assist with a standoff after Lake Worth police pursued a driver who fired on police officers during a traffic stop.

Fort Worth police are investigating a fatal road rage shooting that closed the northbound lanes of East Loop 820 on Monday night.

Preliminary reports indicate that the incident began when Lake Worth Police conducted a traffic stop for a violation. Shortly after the stop, the vehicle fled, with the occupants firing at Lake Worth officers.

Police were searching for the suspect responsible for shooting and killing a person Monday evening in an apparent road rage incident, according to officials.
