"Anora" and "Wicked" were surprise winners at the Critics Choice Awards Friday night, while "The Substance" also won major awards. "Shōgun" and "Hacks" dominated the ceremony on the TV side.

The Critics Choice Awards, which were hosted for a third year in a row by Chelsea Handler, has traditionally been a good Oscar bellwether. Last year, eventual Best Picture Oscar winner Oppenheimer scored a leading eight wins here including the marquee Best Picture prize that Anora just snagged.

Anora” scored big in the final minutes of the ceremony, while Demi Moore and Adrien Brody collected the top acting honors at the 30th annual Critics Choice Awards.
